New Website Launched!

Posted by Sana Mantell, October 3, 2011

We are excited to announce the launch of a new website for Loren Kleinman, Founder of LK Editorial Services, LLC. Loren is is dedicated to providing personal, innovative editorial services to small businesses in both start-up phases and those businesses that are more established.

Our challenge in creating this website was to design a friendly and accessable site, that users would feel comfortable navigating through. Because Loren is a writer and editor, Sana created the logo to feel like an old schooltime note, using hand drawing, bright red and yellow ink, and typewriter font. Sana also added to that schooltime feel by adding Composition Notebook style lines to the background. The entire effect reminds you of your favorite class. lkeditorial.com

Prester John Productions- New Website Launched!!

Posted by Sana Mantell, Nov. 3

We are proud and excited to announce the launch of a new website that Lilac Design Studio created. Prester John Productions is a software company that takes your ideas and turn them into reality. "The reality of software is that more time is spent on maintenance and new versions than on the original product's development. That's why one of our main considerations when offering solutions is to build products that evolve as a client's business evolves."

Birthing the Elephant

Posted by Sana Mantell, Sept. 21

Went to an NJAWBO meeting to hear about women entrepeneurs. Fantastic Speaker- Karen Abarbanel wrote "Birthing the Elephant". www.birthingtheelephant.com The book is genuinely helpful to anyone starting their first business. Karen is such a lovely and inspiring person. One thing she told me was to find the courage, as a woman in business, to ask for what we are worth. I believe this is sage advice for anyone. Thank you Karen, I look forward to reading your book.

Lilac Design Studio Views "Design Journeys: You Are Here"

Posted by Sana Mantell, July 14

"In 2005, the AIGA Task Force on Professional Diversity developed a list of recommendations for increasing diversity within the profession. Among the stated goals were to create awareness of outstanding designers from culturally and racially diverse backgrounds and create traveling shows of the work of diverse designers."

When I attended this exhibitions I felt like part of the diverse and extended design community. All of the exhibits showed designers from varying backgrounds, coming into NYC to display their work and explain how their roots were reflected in their work. One of the coolest exhibits was a graffiti wall. Anyone who came in could add to this wall with magic markers that were provided by the AIGA. I of course included Lilac Design Studio!
